LazyDeadPoet | Madison, WI

LazyDeadPoet's Bio

Bringing high energy to an otherwise lonely sound, Lazydeadpoet has brought the Delta Blues into the 21st century. Playing on a $5 Guitar purchased at a thrift store & a $50 drum-set found in some dusty basement, Lazydeadpoet stick to their mantra of KEEP IT SIMPLE!

A DIY talent, Thomas Skibsrud has honed his skills playing a gritty slide blues guitar style that can seldom be found on stage these days. Meeting up with drummer Eric Geane (also a self taught percussionist) in 2011 the two formed the group Lazydeadpoet & began writing original songs & playing around Madison & outlying areas.

Influenced by the sounds of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, The Black Keys & The White Stripes (just to name a few) Lazydeadpoet writes blue collar songs for blue collar people using old school blue collar blues licks & simple but thunderous modern day drumming.

Lazydeadpoet is currently working on recording their Debut Album scheduled to be released in 2014.
